Peter Ralston Body-Being in Japan!

How to be a body...
Body-Being study explores the principles behind human movement and examines psycho-physical relationships.
For successful understanding of the body’s movement potential, whether for fitness, dance, sports or rehabilitation, one must become conscious of the role that the mind has in every bodily action.
This workshop will be a thorough investigation into the influence of mind and perception on the body and movement, coupled with structural alignment and body mechanics as they apply to function.
Prepare for a fun and highly experiential workshop where you will learn and engage in a variety of exercises and activities to:
-enhance your feeling-awareness
-balance your structural alignment
-increase your spacial acuity
-investigate skillful and effortless movement
-dissolve the limiting effects of intellect and emotion on movement
-and much more
This is a unique form of physical and mental education for anyone interested in body improvement and skill enhancement. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for all movement practitioners (yoga, gyrokinesis, gyrotonic, pilates, etc.), dancers, fitness instructors, athletic trainers, athletes, physical therapists, body workers, etc.
Participants will acquire a heightened capacity to use their body and mind, as well as numerous techniques for developing the qualities of effective Body-Being in their clients.

Peter Ralston was raised in Asia and began studying martial arts as a child in Singapore and Japan. By his early twenties he had black belts in many martial arts including judo, t’ai chi and aikido. Ralston studied anatomy and physiology at the University of California at Berkeley, and during years of Zen contemplation had profound enlightenment experiences that altered the course of his development. In 1975 he founded Cheng Hsin (“true being”), his dogma-free approach to training both body and mind using direct experience as the foundation for study. The Cheng Hsin center operated for 20 years in California, and it is now located in Texas. He has been teaching for over 30 years to students worldwide. His students and clients include: dancers, athletes, body workers, musicians and doctors. Ralston has authored five books, including: Zen Body-Being and The Principles of Effortless Power.
